Located in Stevenson Park, the Active Sport Area (ASA) features a 12,000 sq ft
skate park and 3 half-court basketball courts. The ASA is open to the public
on a daily basis at no cost during the months of March - November. The ASA hosts
several programs & events throughout the year, including basketball tournaments,
skateboarding competitions, late nights at the park, and skateboarding & inline
skating lessons.
LOCATION:
The Active Sport Area is located in Stevenson Park at 49 Lake Street in Oak Park,
Illinois. The park is located only 2 blocks away from the Harlem stop on the
Green line. Free parking is also available on Lake Street.
CURRENT HOURS:
Currently the ASA is closed for the winter, but will re-open on March 8, 2008
(weather permitting).
SKATE PARK RULES:
SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Inline skating and skateboarding are high-risk recreational activities with inherent
risk of serious injury.
HELMETS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES.
Elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards, and other safety equipment are strongly
recommended.
SKATEBOARDERS AND INLINE SKATES ONLY.
Bikes and other uses are prohibited.
MODIFICATIONS TO ANY ELEMENT OR AREA ARE NOT ALLOWED.
Personal ramps, boxes, or other makeshift skating structures are not
allowed.
